VP of Operations

Job Description

Responsible for leading and optimizing construction operations for a major division or multiple regions, ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business growth. This role is critical in translating company strategy into operational success and maintaining strong relationships with key clients.

Responsibilities

• Define and ensure implementation of strategic plans for construction operations across assigned divisions or regions, including annual budgets and rolling 90-day forecasts to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Oversee planning and execution of large-scale construction projects, including new builds, upgrades, restorations, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring alignment with client contracts and project specifications.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and seasonal demands, and ensure appropriate mobilization of internal teams and subcontractor resources to meet business objectives.
• Develop and implement resource plans to onboard and manage W2 employees and subcontractor crews, ensuring appropriate licensing, certifications, and training for safe and compliant construction operations.
• Manage relationships with senior client stakeholders to address project opportunities, resolve escalations, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
• Provide strategic guidance and coaching to a team of Directors and Regional Managers to ensure proactive problem-solving and delivery of operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies, safety standards, cost efficiency, and quality control.
• Oversee budget planning, capital allocation, and financial performance for construction operations in assigned regions.
• Partner with cross-functional departments (Engineering, Safety, Procurement, HR) to ensure alignment of construction operations with overall company goals.
• Promote resource sharing across divisions and regions to optimize labor utilization, equipment, and material management.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for market expansion, new projects, and partnerships in the construction sector.
• Ensure strict compliance with OSHA standards, permitting requirements, environmental regulations, client specifications, and company policies.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and client focus throughout the construction organization.
• Monitor and analyze operational dashboards, performance metrics, and project reports to identify risks, drive corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement.
  
  

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in science/ engineering/ business administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in telecom or broadband operations management with 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Proven track record of driving operational excellence, customer experience, business growth and managing large-scale operations in the telecom or related industries
  
  

Exposure:

• Comprehensive understanding of telecom and broadband industry trends, technologies, and market dynamics
• Experience in managing both residential and commercial installation services
• Understanding of financial management, client relationship management, and strategic planning

Exposure:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Frequent use of computer systems, video conferencing tools, and standard office equipment
• Occasional standing, walking, or traveling between office sites, vendor locations, or operational facilities
• Ability to travel up to 25% for business meetings, client visits, and site evaluations
• Ability to communicate effectively in both in-person and remote settings
