Overview Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Finance serves as an integral member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the development of UWSHR’s financial management strategy and contributing to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. - Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard UWSHR assets
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas of concern or improvement, and recommend corrective actions to ensure the financial stability and growth of the organization.
- Understand key metrics that influence operational planning.
- In conjunction with the Director of Finance, collaborate with department heads to develop and
- Prepare regular financial forecasts and projections, monitoring actual performance against budgeted expectations and identifying variances for further analysis.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads in monitoring and controlling their budgets, offering insights and recommendations as needed and requested.
- Provide financial analysis and support to the leadership team, including financial modeling, profitability analysis, and scenario planning.
- Articulate potential risks and their financial implications to help in creating more robust operational strategies.
- Demonstrate sound financial acumen through resource allocation based on strategic priorities and budgetary constraints.
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring and forecasting cash needs, optimizing investment strategies, and overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions and manage banking activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and other financial reviews as necessary.
- Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance department.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a

- Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set

Key Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting mandatory
- CPA license preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based software (i.e., SharePoint)
- Experience with CRM software preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role, ideally with both external
- Experience with pledge processing and nonprofit fund accounting required
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
- Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports
- Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to
