Job Overview:


The organization is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Technology leader who will lead one of LPL Financials' most critical and high visibility technology domains, supporting over 30,000 advisors and 11,000 institutions. This role will own the entire Practice Management Tech Team in the India GCC, which include the following:

• Registration, Maintenance

• Commissions, Fees

• Householding

• Personalized Experience


Additionally, this leader will also have functional technology focus on Commissions and Fees Technology. LPL is currently in Year 2 of a 5- year, enterprise-wide transformation of its commission and fee platforms, systems that are 34+ years old, process billions of dollars monthly, and support 25–30 million trades. This transformation is a top priority for the President, CFO, and Steering Committee, making this role both highly strategic and highly visible.

The incumbent will be responsible for building and scaling high performing engineering teams, overseeing technology delivery across practice management domains, and driving innovation, excellence, and organizational development.The role requires strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and a passion for technology to drive business impact. Responsibilities:


Platform & Engineering Leadership

• Own technology leadership for Practice Management in India across Advisor registration and lifecycle management, Householding and book-of-business views, Commission processing and fee billing, Advisor and institutional personalization capabilities.

• Modernization of a legacy commission platform processing billions in payouts monthly, ensuring scalability, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and resilience.

• Contribute to architectural design, modernization decisions, and platform evolution, with hands-on participation in architecture debates and design reviews.


Commissions & Fee Transformation

• Hands on engineering for commission and fee billing systems, which form ~60% of the Practice Management organization.

• Partner closely with cross geography tech teams and other functions like Finance, Operations, Product, and Compliance to support complex advisor compensation, tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

• Support the use of AI driven MIS and analytics, correlating front office data with commissions and payouts, an area where LPL is in early stages but sees long-term transformation potential.


People Leadership & Organizational Development

• Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team in India for each domain area.

• Grow the team strategically over the next 3 years, with a target core team of 50 senior engineers under direct leadership.

• Hire and develop senior leaders, including an AVP to manage sub-domains, while retaining overall accountability.

• Establish this role as the India leader for Practice Management Technology, partnering across teams.

• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.


Stakeholder & Business Partnership

• Serve as a trusted technology partner to stakeholders.

• Operate with strong commercial awareness, understanding how advisor economics, commissions, and fees impact LPL’s P&L.

• Work closely with highly detail oriented senior leaders, contributing rigor, structure, and execution excellence.

• Collaborate with business units and product teams to build product vision and deliver business value

• Work actively with quality assurance engineer teams, Release Management, DevOps to ensure all SDLC processes are adhered to

Requirements:


Sector:

• Proven global experience within financial services, wealth management, or adjacent sectors, ideally with exposure to technology led organizations.

• Demonstrated success in leading technology delivery functions that are directly tied to business outcomes, innovation, and client value.


Team Leadership:

• Experienced in leading at least 60+ member technology-oriented teams across products with onshore offshore interaction models

• Inspiring people leader, able to attract and build high performing teams and institute a high-performance culture

• Strong track record driving accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Skilled at scaling organizations by building self sustaining leadership teams and future ready talent pipelines.


Technology:

• Passionate and hands on technologist.

• Ability to debate and influence architectural decisions with architects and senior engineers.

• Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.

• Good to have- Experience in advisor platforms, brokerage, wealth technology, or large-scale fee/commission systems.

• Experience working in the US market or within an MNC headquarters in the US, with a strong understanding of global organizational dynamics.

• Proven ability to operate across multiple geographies, leading diverse, multicultural teams and delivering solutions for global stakeholders.
