Velocity Developer

Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Velocity Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing, customizing, and optimizing templates using Apache Velocity and should possess strong programming and analytical skills. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain templates and applications using Apache Velocity . Integrate Velocity templates with backend systems and APIs. Work closely with UI/UX, backend, and QA teams to ensure seamless functionality and user experience. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code and templates for better performance. Participate in code reviews, requirement analysis, and design discussions. Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability across all deliverables. Document development processes, technical specifications, and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of hands-on experience in Velocity Template Language (VTL) development. Strong proficiency in Java , JSP , HTML , CSS , and JavaScript . Experience working with frameworks and tools integrating Velocity (e.g., Spring MVC, Struts). Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts. Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP) and backend integration. Good understanding of version control systems (Git, SVN). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.). Knowledge of Velocity macros and performance optimization techniques. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
