UI/UX Designer

Seeking an experienced, highly motivated UI/UX Designer to shape intuitive, modern user experiences in a complex financial product environment, to help build the next generation of a proprietary billing platform; design is central to that transformation. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence how customers interact with critical financial workflows, from concept through execution, including drafting, designing, and adding features to the user interface and user experience. This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity in Chapel Hill, NC (Raleigh/Durham metro area). Candidates will sit onsite 3+ days per week the first year of employment. Salary ranges up to $125,000 depending on experience and skillset, plus a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical/life/disability insurance, 401(k) with match, generous PTO, and a home office reimbursement. No relocation assistance, visa sponsorship, or subcontracting arrangements available. Candidates must be able to share examples of prior UI/UX work; an online portfolio is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities of the UI/UX Designer:

• Create wireframes, design prototypes, use case scenarios, storyboards, and usability design specs for the proprietary software platform
• Build processes that minimize cycle time for users at every stage
• Test & validate the correct implementation of designs and experiences
• Use a variety of industry software tools for graphics creation, wireframing, and crafting layouts
• Explore new avenues for the company’s UI/UX development, such as UX research
• Design, iterate, and refine the UI/UX screen layout, interaction, buttons, widgets, and other elements
• Collaborate with internal product and software development teams on design iterations

Required Qualifications of the UI/UX Designer:

• 3-5+ years of relevant professional experience in UI/UX
• 1-2+ years of design experience for a billing platform, ERP, accounting, or similar browser-based financial software tool
• Experience in industry-standard tools such as Adobe creative suite, Figma, Omnigraffle, Axure, and similar
• A strong artistic vision that prioritizes design thinking, workflow optimization, and accessibility

Preferred Qualifications of the UI/UX Designer:

• Experience in a small company environment highly desired
• Some exposure to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript a plus
• A relevant Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is a plus.
