Job Summary

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead UI Engineer to own the frontend architecture for DDN Control Plane, our multi-tenant control-plane platform for AI infrastructure and data management. Control Plane's UI is built as a micro frontend shell (React, Webpack 5 / Rspack Module Federation) that hosts independently deployable frontend modules contributed by the platform foundation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will set frontend architecture and standards, write production React/TypeScript code on the highest-impact surfaces, and actively apply AI tooling and agentic workflows to simplify and accelerate how the team designs, builds, tests, and ships UI. You will partner closely with platform, backend, QA, DevOps, and product teams across multiple domain-service teams to deliver a coherent, reliable user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the Control Plane micro frontend shell (React + Webpack 5 / Rspack Module Federation), ensuring independently deployable modules from Platform core and domain services integrate seamlessly under one application shell.
• Set frontend engineering standards across teams — component architecture, state management, design system usage, accessibility, and performance.
• Stay technically hands-on: contribute to design reviews, prototype critical UI paths, and write production code on the surfaces that matter most (authentication, tenancy/RBAC administration, workspace and cluster management).
• Partner with platform and domain-service teams (moss-core, Control Plane-ctrl, Control Plane-store, augmented-support) to define API contracts (OpenAPI) and ensure the UI integrates cleanly with JWT-based auth, RBAC, and gateway routing.
• Champion and operationalize AI-assisted engineering — using LLMs and agentic tooling to simplify development, automate triage, accelerate code review, and reduce toil.
• Mentor and grow frontend engineers across domain-service teams; run and uphold design and code review standards.
• Drive UI performance, accessibility (WCAG), frontend observability (error monitoring, tracing), and secure handling of tokens and sensitive data.
• Own build and release tooling for frontend modules — versioning, independent deployability, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Translate product and design requirements into clear technical roadmaps, milestones, and execution plans.
• Maintain clear documentation of frontend architecture, conventions, and design decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience architecting and shipping micro frontend or modular frontend systems at scale (Module Federation, single-spa, or similar).
• Deep expertise in React and modern TypeScript/JavaScript, with strong CSS and design-system fluency.
• Experience integrating frontends with JWT-based authentication, RBAC, and multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Track record leading frontend engineering efforts across multiple teams or services while remaining hands-on in code.
• Strong understanding of REST/OpenAPI-driven API integration.
• Solid grounding in frontend performance, accessibility, security, and observability fundamentals.
• Demonstrated use of AI tooling to simplify and improve engineering processes and developer productivity.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with Webpack 5 / Rspack Module Federation.
• Experience building admin or control-plane UIs for infrastructure, cloud, or storage platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployment of frontend assets.
• Experience building and scaling design systems and shared component libraries.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud, on-premises, or air-gapped deployment models.
