Transportation Assistant

This remote role supports inbound transportation operations within the supply chain, ensuring efficient movement of goods from vendors to distribution centers. The position focuses on optimizing freight planning, improving transit efficiency, and maintaining strong carrier and vendor coordination in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate inbound transportation using a Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Source carriers and develop cost-effective routing solutions
• Optimize freight movements across Truckload, Intermodal, LTL, and limited parcel modes
• Evaluate and enhance system-generated transportation plans for optimal load building
• Develop backhaul and continuous move opportunities
• Monitor carrier capacity, performance metrics, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with carriers, vendors, transportation leadership, and internal teams
• Analyze financial performance and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
• Support high-priority freight movements and large merchandise initiatives
