This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 1200000 (ie INR 10-12 LPA) Min Experience: 4 years Location: chennai JobType: full-time We are seeking a skilled Senior Test Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in banking payment systems. This role combines hands-on technical testing expertise with mentorship responsibilities, functioning as an individual contributor while guiding junior team members. The candidate should be flexible with work hours to support critical project needs. Requirements Key Responsibilities Technical Testing Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for banking payment applications, including Wire, ACH, RTP, and Card processing systems. Build and maintain robust API automation frameworks using Karate. Create and enhance UI automation scripts using Selenium. Plan and execute performance testing using K6 or JMeter to ensure system reliability and scalability. Troubleshoot complex issues across the payment processing ecosystem. Implement effective test data strategies that mirror production scenarios. Identify automation opportunities to improve test coverage and efficiency. Leadership & Mentorship Mentor junior test engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support. Review test cases and automation code written by team members. Share knowledge and best practices through documentation and informal training. Help establish team testing standards, methodologies, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new tools and approaches to enhance testing efficiency. Project Collaboration Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to ensure requirements are testable. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives. Provide clear updates on testing progress, quality metrics, and potential risks. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines. Required Qualifications 4-6 years of experience in software testing within banking or financial services. Strong knowledge of US banking rails (Wire, ACH, RTP) and Card processing systems. Advanced API testing and automation experience using Karate. Proficiency in Selenium for UI automation. Experience with performance testing tools (K6 or JMeter). Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, and Docker. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and software testing best practices. Proven ability to mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance. Flexibility to support critical testing requirements. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Desired Skills Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards. Experience testing microservices architectures. Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with test data management and security testing (OWASP). Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies. Proficiency in database testing and SQL. Familiarity with BDD frameworks. Experience with AI testing tools.
