Position - Territory Manager - MT, Sales- South (Chennai)

Qualification - Diploma/BE Mech.

The Territory Manager – MT, Sales is responsible for promoting the assigned product portfolio to existing and new customers within the defined sales territory. The role ensures complete customer satisfaction by strictly adhering to the defined sales process and acting as the central coordination point between customers and internal teams.

  • Key Responsibilities


Sales & Customer Management

  • Promote the assigned product portfolio to existing and prospective customers within the territory.
  • Own and manage end-to-end customer relationships within the assigned sales area.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective follow‑ups.
  • Maintain optimal call rates to achieve coverage of both existing and new customers.


Sales Process & Reporting

  • Follow the defined Sales Process strictly and without exception.
  • Generate, update, and follow up all sales leads using Update 7 – Opportunity Module.
  • Report all lost orders accurately through Update 7.
  • Submit sales forecasts, expense reports, and other MIS reports within stipulated timelines.


Internal Coordination & Communication

  • Clearly document and communicate all customer commitments to relevant internal stakeholders to prevent communication gaps.
  • Act as the primary interface (pivot) between customers and TRUMPF, anchoring all sales and inter-department activities at the customer end.
  • Coordinate demos, trainings, visits, and other customer-related activities with advance planning to ensure a superior customer experience.


Complaint & Issue Resolution

  • Report all customer complaints through the defined customer complaint routines.
  • Engage appropriate internal resources to ensure timely and logical resolution of customer issues.


Marketing & Business Development

  • Actively participate and take responsibility for marketing initiatives such as:
    • Exhibitions
    • Customer evenings
    • Technology days
    • Delegations and other promotional activities within the assigned territory
  • Identify, understand, and report market developments, customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities that may impact business.

  • Strong technical knowledge (Machine Tools preferred)
  • Effective selling and negotiation skills

  • Strong communication skills – listening, oral, and written
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute independently
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong ownership
