Responsible for the administration of the Program Department which includes planning, organizing, developing, implementing, staffing, controlling and evaluating programs in accordance with the purpose and philosophies of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. Operational responsibilities include fiscal management, staff development, volunteer and community development and facility management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, utilizing non-traditional pipelines, hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff, program participants, and volunteers to effectively operate programs of the department as budgeted and approved, fostering achievement and belonging through strong relationships.
- Support camp leaders in leadership development; lead, evaluate and influence an inclusive camp culture that celebrates achievement and belonging.
- Connect with participants, parents, staff and other community leaders to build relationships and to identify gaps in meeting the needs and expectations of the community.
- Develop, document, and implement an effective, inclusive training program for ropes course, waterfront, mountain biking, and other specialty activities that promote teamwork and achievement.
- Develop, manage and control department budgets related to the position and as assigned.
- Provide staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign, camp advisory board, and primary leadership support to the Junior Board.
- Inspect and maintain the facilities and equipment within the department to ensure high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of equipment.
- Plan, execute, evaluate and continually improve teen programs and activities including off-season weekend camps, rental groups and training weekend that promote growth, relationships and achievement.
- Onsite and available at all times during summer camp sessions and other camp programs to provide ongoing supervision/instruction that build confidence and belonging.
- Lead trainings, in-services, and coaching for staff, as necessary, including leadership approached through cultural lenses, relationship building, and achievement-focused program development.
- Ensure program standards are met and decisions promote health, safety, belonging and achievement of staff and campers. Maintains records and enforces all policies and procedures including those related to ACA.
- Develop effective communication plan with teen program participants and parents. Evaluate current systems and practices and adjust where necessary.
- Oversee promotional and informational marketing plan for camp, ensuring inclusion and belonging are visually and authentically represented.
- Adhere to established association standards.

- Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Have successful experiences in youth development, staff supervision, training, staff and volunteer development, and program development.
- Ability to supervise and work with children, teens and parents.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, parents, volunteers, members, and the general public is essential. Good organizational and written/oral skills necessary.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks by being a creative, motivated, self-starter with the skills to lead and motivate others. Must be able to delegate appropriate responsibilities in order to accomplish the necessary duties.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to promote Camp locally.
- Certification or ability to obtain certification in one or more of the following: high ropes, lifeguard, mountain biking, archery, etc.
