Technology Risk Specialist

Join our Technology Risk & Controls team within Morgan Stanley’s Enterprise Technology Controls and Risks (ETCR) organization.

This role is ideal for candidates who have some experience in IT, technology risk, audit, governance, or information security—or who are motivated to grow in this field.

You will work as part of a small, global team and gain exposure to how a large enterprise manages technology risks and controls. You will receive support, guidance, and the opportunity to learn progressively more complex tasks.

You will:

• Support and maintain parts of the Technology Non‑Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) process
• Assist in reviewing and documenting technology risks, controls, and processes
• Help evaluate and track triggers such as control changes, process updates, and risk findings
• Prepare reports and presentations for Technology management and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with various teams across Technology, including the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense
• Help maintain procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Support other assessment activities such as SOX Technology testing, Technology Control Assessments, and cyber‑related assessments

You have:

• Strong communication skills in English
• Basic understanding of IT concepts (e.g., systems, applications, networks, general IT terminology)
• Interest in IT risk, technology controls, information security, or IT audit
• Good analytical skills and confident use of Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to work methodically
• Ability to organize your work and manage multiple tasks
• Willingness to learn, be coached, and grow into more complex responsibilities

You might have:

• Previous exposure to IT audit, IT risk, security governance, compliance, or SOX
• Experience from Big4 advisory or similar environments
• One or more of the following industry Certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CIA, CGEIT
