Technical Production Designer (Retail Fitout / Exhibitions)

Design & Development-

a. Design retail fixtures such as display units, gondolas, counters, wall displays, shelving systems, and kiosks.

b. Develop 3D models and concept drawings based on client requirements.

c. Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and production friendly.

Technical Drawings:

Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings for:

Metal fabrication

Wood / MDF / plywood work etc.

Glass and acrylic parts

Create exploded views, assembly drawings, and section details

Material & Specification:

a. Define materials, thickness, finishes, and hardware.

b. Coordinate with metal vendors, light box vendors, and glass vendors.

4. Bill of Materials (BOM):

a. Prepare detailed BOM for each fixture including:

* Raw materials

* Hardware & fittings

* Glass / acrylic components

* Knockdown fittings etc.

b. Ensure accurate quantity calculation and material specification.

c. Coordinate BOM with procurement and production teams.

5.Production Support:

a. Work closely with production and site teams.

b. Solve manufacturing and installation issues.

c. Ensure fixtures are built as per approved drawings.

6.Cost Optimization:

a. Optimize designs to reduce material waste and manufacturing cost.

b. Suggest alternate materials and fabrication methods.

7. Project Coordination:

a. Understand client drawings and translate them into production drawings.

b. Support installation drawings and layout planning.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of retail fixture design and shopfitting

Good understanding of metal fabrication, woodworking, and hardware

Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD

Ability to create detailed technical drawings

Knowledge of laminate, powder coating, glass, acrylic, and lighting

Good problem-solving and communication skills.
