Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Technical Lead to lead the development of scalable, high-performance backend systems that support critical airline operations and customer-facing applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technical leadership, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about building reliable, cost-efficient systems using modern backend technologies. While the primary focus of this role is backend engineering and technical leadership, experience or familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data engineering practices is a plus. You may occasionally collaborate with data teams to support intelligent features and data-driven systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services and APIs. Drive technical architecture, design reviews, and engineering best practices. Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, infrastructure, and business stakeholders. Ensure systems are optimized for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency. Define and track technical KPIs, including system uptime, latency, and resource utilization. Evaluate and adopt appropriate streaming technologies and orchestration tools to support real-time and batch processing needs. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of backend development experience using Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages. Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, and microservices. Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling. Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage project delivery. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS and GCP. Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect). Experience with performance monitoring, benchmarking, and cost optimization. Good To Have Prior experience in the airline, travel, or transportation domain. Exposure to observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog). Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Educational Qualification Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
