Email HTML Developer is in the center of email campaign development, turning the creative files into an actual email creative in HTML and FreeMarker languages. It is vital that they are experts in using HTML for email development and the field of email automation, and collaborate well with delivery managers to ensure the accuracy of final deliverables.

Position Responsibilities

Requirement Analysis and Strategy

• Conduct requirement analysis on templates and wireframes of the design to strategize the build approach before development begins.
  
  

Develop email copies in HTML using Modular Approach

• Ability to convert creative files (Figma, Photoshop, Sketch, etc.) into web-based HTML layouts, following a modular coding approach and best practices.
• Implement content logic, conditional scripts, and links to prepare the build.
• Work in HTML and FreeMarker directly, or use tools like Knak, Dreamweaver, or other similar internal tools (Google internal solution: Connect Composer).
  
  

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Perform cross-browser and cross-device proof reviews using tools like Litmus and real devices.
• Conduct Unit Testing on code modules to ensure functionality across all environments.
  
  

Localization & Global Delivery

• Follow best practices for content localization and validation to ensure the successful delivery of multilingual campaigns.
  
  

Ensure adherence to accessibility standards

• Understanding of the Accessibility concept and its importance.
  
  

Support email template enhancement

• Maintain email template library, implement enhancement requests.
  
  

Proactively identify improvement opportunities

• Ensure the accuracy and continuity of existing and newly created programs.
• Collaborate with teammates to continuously optimize output and program performance.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with email development in HTML and/or CSS experience (develop the HTML code from scratch).
• 3+ years experience with various email technology tools.
• 3+ years experience in marketing automation tools such as Eloqua, Marketo, Marketing Cloud, etc.
• Proficient in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Google Apps Script, and template engines (e.g. FreeMarker).
• Demonstrable experience with Unit Testing and QA tools (e.g., Litmus).
• Advanced understanding of Agile Methodology.
• Certified in marketing automation tools.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Photoshop / Figma or other design tools is a plus.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity using GenAI (generative AI) for email marketing development and optimization.
• Basic understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
