Position Summary

Motz Engineering is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Commissioning Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the continued growth of our Commissioning Division. This role is responsible for identifying, attracting, screening, and coordinating the hiring of high-performing commissioning professionals while building long-term talent pipelines to meet future workforce demands.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled at building relationships. Experience recruiting within engineering, construction, mission critical, or technical environments is preferred. Familiarity with military recruiting initiatives, internships, and workforce development programs is a plus.

This position serves as a strategic partner to Commissioning Operations leadership, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time.

Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities for commissioning positions, including:
  • Interns
  • Entry-Level Commissioning Engineers
  • Commissioning Engineers
  • Senior Commissioning Engineers
  • Project Managers
  • Specialized technical roles as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a robust candidate pipeline through proactive sourcing efforts.
  • Identify and recruit candidates through:
  • LinkedIn and professional networks
  • Industry associations
  • Employee referrals
  • Veteran hiring initiatives
  • SkillBridge partnerships
  • University and co-op programs
  • Career fairs and recruiting events.
  • Review resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and operational leadership.
  • Facilitate candidate communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain positive candidate experiences from initial contact through onboarding.
Workforce Pipeline Development
  • Build and maintain talent pools for anticipated staffing needs.
  • Monitor future workforce requirements in partnership with Commissioning leadership.
  • Support internship and early-career recruiting initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with universities, trade schools, military transition offices, and workforce development programs.
  • Assist in succession planning initiatives by identifying future talent needs.
Recruiting Operations
  • Maintain recruiting trackers and applicant records.
  • Track recruiting metrics and provide regular reports, including:
  • Time-to-fill
  • Candidate pipeline status
  • Offer acceptance rates
  • Source effectiveness
  • Open requisition aging
  • Coordinate background checks, offer letters, and pre-employment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
Employer Branding
  • Promote Motz Engineering's culture, values, and career opportunities.
  • Highlight employee development initiatives including:

  • Technical training programs
  • Professional development opportunities

  • Represent Motz at recruiting events and community outreach activities.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recruiting, staffing coordination, talent acquisition, or workforce planning experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Professional discretion when handling confidential information.
Preferred
  • Experience recruiting for engineering, construction, commissioning, mission critical, or technical positions.
  • Familiarity with commissioning roles and career progression.
  • Experience supporting veteran hiring initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense SkillBridge programs.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Experience supporting internship or university recruiting programs.
