Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To allow the student to gain career-related work experience at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

This is a position for a student interested in gaining professional communications experience. The position will be housed within The James M. Anderson Center for Health System Excellence’s Communications Center of Excellence.

Representative Responsibilities

Assist the Anderson Centers’s Communications Center of Excellence in leveraging communications to improve child health by:

  • Supporting the development of conceptual design, campaigns, and other initiatives aligned to customer communication or improvement goals.
  • Providing communication services including but not limited to: writing/copyediting, newsletter production, graphic design, video, podcast production, collateral development (e.g., brochures, annual reports, blog posts, one-pagers, infographics).
  • Supporting team members in managing customer social media accounts and public websites with opportunities for creative autonomy (e.g., social media content creation and research, metric tracking, graphic design, copywriting).
  • Depending on team needs and the intern’s interest, students may select and work on a learning development project that supports institutional communication goals.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting college program.

Preferred

  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills.
  • Skills in and experience with content creation (newsletter production, graphic design, video development/editing and other collateral).
  • Understanding of social media usage in a professional context, including for marketing purposes.
  • Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) and/or Canva.
  • Familiarity with website Content Management Systems (e.g., SquareSpace, WordPress, Wix).
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact).
  • Knowledge of AP Style.
  • Currently enrolled in a communications program (or a related field such as marketing, media production, etc.) at an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to learn and desire to join a supportive, collaborative team.
