About the Role
The role involves interpreting architectural, technical, and detailed shop drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and performing structural calculations to support system designs.
Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural, technical, and detailed shop drawings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop system designs and support structures
- Perform structural calculations using FEA tools and hand methods in accordance with applicable codes
- Build and manage models in ANSYS Workbench Suite
- Prepare design packages and structural analysis reports for PE review
- Recommend design improvements to enhance performance, reduce weight, or lower cost
- Develop and maintain structural design standards for Ellis & Watts products
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years’ prior experience in a seismic, stress, or structural analysis
- 5+ years’ working experience with ANSYS Workbench and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Software
- Strong ability to perform Modal Analysis
Preferred Skills
- ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
- IEEE standards
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
