Job Summary

The State Head - LAP (Loan Against Property) will be responsible for leading and managing the entire LAP business operations within a designated state. This role encompasses strategic planning, team management, business development, portfolio quality, and ensuring the achievement of sales and profitability targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth and expansion of the LAP business across the state, aligning with national objectives.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Area Managers, Regional Managers, and other LAP staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Establish and achieve aggressive sales targets for LAP products, driving market penetration and loan disbursals.
  • Oversee the entire loan lifecycle, from sourcing and credit appraisal to sanctioning, disbursement, and collection, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage the quality of the LAP portfolio, implementing strategies to minimize delinquencies and non-performing assets (NPAs).
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and challenges, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including channel partners, intermediaries, and other business associates.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business performance, market trends, and team achievements to senior management.
  • Manage operational expenses efficiently to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role specifically managing Loan Against Property (LAP) or a related secured lending product.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large sales teams and achieving aggressive business targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the LAP market, including product features, credit policies, underwriting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant business tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned state.
