Job Purpose

Plan, construct, and monitor retail outlet projects within the division, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, statutory compliance, and cost efficiency. Drive timely execution of infrastructure projects, maintenance, and augmentation to support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Design & Statutory Approvals
  • Conduct site selection and surveys before LOI issuance.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings for new ROs and augmentations with zero deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PESO, NH, municipal, panchayat norms).
  • Prepare drawings for NOCs, building permissions, and manage approvals with authorities.
  • Maintain drawing records in DMS and ensure timely release for execution.
  • Prepare site-specific estimates, pre-NC, deviation notes, and TS documents.
  • Construction & Quality Assurance
  • Conduct kick-off meetings (KOMs) and milestone inspections during construction.
  • Ensure facilities are built as per approved drawings, Engineering Manual, and Nayara SOPs.
  • Verify material quality and ensure procurement from registered vendors only.
  • Plan material requirements in advance and coordinate timely deliveries.
  • Educate contractors/workers on safety and maintain MIS for construction progress.
  • Standardization & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to engineering SOPs and guide field teams and franchisees on standardization.
  • Implement CVP, branding, and RVI standards across all projects.
  • Cost Estimation & Control
  • Provide estimated NC before LOI and actual NC post-construction.
  • Update TS documents in NICE portal and manage amendments for additional equipment.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and avoid overruns through proactive planning.
  • Maintenance, Infra & Augmentation
  • Ensure minimal downtime of dispensers and other assets through preventive maintenance.
  • Liaise with OEMs for timely resolution of complaints and AMC tie-ups.
  • Manage NFAs for infra upgrades, rebranding, automation, and additional facilities (DUs, canopies).
  • Support automation readiness and integration at ROs.
  • Training & Capability Building
  • Train franchisees and field engineers on engineering activities, safety, and quality standards.
  • Conduct classroom and on-the-job training for field engineers on correct work procedures.
  • Inspection & Commissioning
  • Inspect under-construction ROs at key stages and conduct engineering audits post-construction.
  • Ensure readiness for commissioning and OTP by liquidating punch points.
  • Issue work permits for critical safety tasks and ensure HSE compliance during construction.
  • Vendor & Contractor Development
  • Identify and develop local contractors for civil works and vendors for equipment supply.
  • Ensure timely supply of equipment and resolve supply-related issues.
  • Automation Implementation
  • Coordinate with vendors for automation installation and ensure site readiness.
  • Provide technical support for automation programs and monitor performance.


Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; knowledge of AutoCAD preferred

Skills

  • Functional:
  • In-depth understanding of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering principles relevant to petroleum retail infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to petroleum products, PESO norms, and building permissions. Expertise in engineering activities at retail outlets, including civil construction, mechanical piping, electrical systems, and RVI/branding implementation.
  • Complete understanding of equipment such as dispenser units, tanks, canopies, automation systems, and safety devices. Proficiency in QA/QC processes, HSE compliance, and safety audits during construction and augmentation.
  • Strong capability in estimating and costing, preparing normative cost (NC), and managing TS documentation in NICE portal. Project planning and proactive scheduling for multi-site execution. Hands-on experience in automation implementation, site readiness, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Vendor and contractor development for civil works and equipment supply. Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering design tools for preparing and reviewing drawings
