As a Staff Engineer-Frontend at Rocketlane, you?ll play a pivotal role in defining and shaping our frontend architecture while leading by example as an expert individual contributor. You?ll work alongside a passionate team of engineers to build pixel-perfect UIs, scalable frontend systems, and delightful user experiences. Design and implement scalable, performant frontend architectures using React, TypeScript, and modern SPA paradigms. Build reusable design systems, component libraries, and tooling that empower speed and consistency. Lead the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies to enhance frontend experiences and productivity within the product. Guide the engineering team in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing AI-powered features, ensuring they align with performance, UX, and ethical standards. Set the frontend technical vision and guardrails across products and teams. Drive engineering excellence by mentoring developers, reviewing code, and enforcing standards and best practices. Collaborate with design and product to bring high-fidelity mockups to life with pixel-perfect precision and interactive fluidity. Engineer seamless real-time collaboration features, live editing tools, spreadsheet interfaces, and more. Continuously monitor, profile, and optimize frontend performance for responsiveness and rendering speed across devices. Eliminate jank, reduce bundle sizes, and build blazing-fast interfaces that scale. Establish and evolve patterns for state management, component composition, and codebase modularity. Champion testability, type safety, accessibility, and developer productivity. Take complete ownership of major features and architectural decisions, from ideation through delivery and ongoing iteration. Lead by example with hands-on contributions and deep problem-solving skills. You should apply if 10+ years of experience building complex web applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend stacks. Expertise in React: Deep understanding of React, component-driven architecture, and state management (Redux, Zustand, or React Query). Proficiency in SPA Frameworks: Strong grasp of modern frontend patterns, single-page applications, and component-based design. Advanced JavaScript & TypeScript: Hands-on experience with ES6+, modern JavaScript concepts, and TypeScript. HTML, CSS, SASS: Strong knowledge of UI styling methodologies and responsive web design. Performance Optimization: Experience optimizing frontend performance through caching, memoization, and rendering strategies. Browser APIs & Web Standards: Understanding of browser-based features like caching, local storage, and compatibility considerations.
