About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines. The role involves supporting and optimizing SQL Server SSIS ETL workflows, while also driving the transition to Microsoft Fabric pipelines. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with legacy ETL support and highly skilled in building modern, cloud-native data workflows in Fabric. ?? Key Responsibilities: Provide production support and maintenance for existing SQL Server SSIS ETL jobs. Design, develop, and migrate ETL workflows from SSIS to Microsoft Fabric. Build, test, and optimize Fabric pipelines, Dataflows, Eventstream, Notebooks, and Lakehouse solutions. Extract, transform, and load data from relational, non-relational, and API-based sources. Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and scalability. Implement data quality checks, error handling, monitoring, and logging for ETL jobs. Ensure data lineage, governance, and compliance within Fabric. Collaborate with BI teams to deliver Power BI-ready datasets and semantic models. Document pipelines, migration strategies, and metadata for future scalability. Mentor team members and contribute to building Fabric expertise across the organization. ?? Requirements: 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering / ETL development. Strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS. Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric workflows (Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, Eventstream, Lakehouse). Proficiency in SQL & Python (pandas, requests, psycopg2, SQLAlchemy). Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, incremental loads, and performance optimization. Experience with scheduling tools (SQL Agent, cron, Airflow, Jenkins, etc.). Familiarity with Git-based version control and config-driven ETL design. ? Good to Have: Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, and Databricks. Exposure to real-time streaming (Kafka, Event Hub, etc.). Knowledge of ML pipelines within Fabric Notebooks. Hands-on with Power BI semantic models & performance tuning. Working experience in Agile/Scrum environments. ?? Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
