Job Title: Backend Automation Engineer ? SDET Location : Remote Division : Sam?s Club (Walmart Merchandising) About the Role: We?re looking for a skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our fast-growing merchandising team at Sam?s Club. As part of this team, you will be working on catalog and merchant tools , building automated solutions to ensure robust and scalable backend systems for our internal and customer-facing APIs. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for RESTful APIs and backend services. Create, organize, and execute automated tests using Java, RestAssured, and TestNG. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions. Validate APIs against Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and schema files. Perform functional, regression, and integration testing, including third-party API validations. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases. Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive quality ownership throughout the SDLC. Take complete ownership from writing test cases to production-level validations and releases. Tech Stack You?ll Work With: Languages : Java (Primary), Python Frameworks : RestAssured, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, PyTest Cloud Platforms : GCP, Azure, AWS (Preferred) Tools : Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, TestRail, Docker, Kubernetes (basic exposure) Others : Swagger, Postman, JSON, Schema Validators What We Expect: Strong knowledge of API automation using Java and industry-standard tools. Hands-on experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks. Solid understanding of CI/CD and test scheduling at scale. Exposure to cloud-native environments and microservices-based architecture. The ability to think end-to-end , take initiative, and independently own test delivery pipelines.
