Technical Operations/Maintenance
Technical Operations includes the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of our aircraft. Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance engineers, technicians, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain and more.

Job Overview And Responsibilities
The Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions. The team monitors trends to notify maintenance and engineering teams of emerging issues and probable corrective actions.
The Senior Engineer will aim to provide accurate information and useful insights to help multiple divisions make better data-driven decisions. They will be responsible for identifying root causes of key aircraft issues through reporting and analysis. The role includes both strategic and tactical responsibilities: long-term modifications to United’s fleet and maintenance program, as well as day-to-day identification of recurring aircraft system failures.

They will be responsible for identifying root causes of key aircraft issues through reporting and analysis. The role includes both strategic and tactical responsibilities: long-term modifications to United’s fleet and maintenance program, as well as day-to-day identification of recurring aircraft system failures.
- Responsibility of one of the United’s Fleet Type either Boeing, Airbus or strategic areas such as aircraft interior cabins.
- Identify and highlight key fleet insights to engineering and leadership, ensuring they are informed of emerging trends and opportunities for proactive intervention.
- Analyze fleet on-time and completion factor performance from technical (aircraft defects, maintenance programs, etc.) and operational perspectives (out of service aircraft, aircraft swap options, schedule compression, etc.)
- Provide accurate and high-quality aircraft performance data, supporting the integrity of reliability analysis across United’s operations.
- Consistently delivering high-quality work that meets both internal and regulatory standards.
- Tracking fleet trends and highlighting potential issues by performing operational drilldowns using aircraft engineering expertise.
- Supporting ongoing reliability/fleet initiatives and ad-hoc requests
- Recommending reliability, safety improvements through comprehensive analysis.
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes, evaluate and report project effectiveness.
Qualifications
What’s to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in aviation/ aircraft maintenance organization or related fields, preferred specialization in Reliability, Tech Services.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance program, reliability program, CASS and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth understanding of aircraft systems, SPEC 2000, and reliability metrics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to cross-functional teams.
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Master's degree and/ or MBA preferred
- FAA A&P License/ DGCA issued equivalent
- Lean and Six Sigma certification or experience with process improvement methodologies
- Data analytics skillset with statistical analysis software and programming languages. e.g., SQL, and experience with using analytical tools such as Skywise, Palantir.
