Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Integration Engineer with over 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade integration solutions using WSO2 API Management . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has a deep understanding of API lifecycle management, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and modern API ecosystems. You will play a critical role in shaping and supporting our API strategy, enabling seamless integration across enterprise systems and third-party platforms, and promoting an API-first culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage scalable API solutions using APIM platforms. Lead integration initiatives involving WSO2 API Management & WSO2 Identity Server. Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and technology partners to integrate solutions using robust and secure APIs. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers. Ensure compliance with security and governance standards in API and data exchange implementations. Troubleshoot and optimize existing integration workflows. Lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of WSO2 API Management (v4.2+) platform. Establish and enforce integration environment strategy, governance, and adherence to industry and company standards. Manage API deployment processes, including CI/CD automation, platform upgrades, and performance tuning. Oversee third-party integrations ensuring they meet architectural and security requirements. Support the evolution of the API and service platform through participation in architecture, product design, and roadmap planning. Collaborate with product development teams to guide integration strategies and rework legacy data integrations. Mentor development teams on modern integration practices and API-first methodologies. Provide input on API design in collaboration with architects and business users. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring stability and performance across a distributed, hybrid gateway landscape. Document integration designs, patterns, and usage guidelines to ensure consistency and reuse. Uphold Medline's Code of Ethics and consistently demonstrate professional behavior with all stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of total IT experience with 5+ years in enterprise integration/API development roles. Hands-on experience designing, building, and managing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI specifications. Deep expertise in WSO2 API Management (3.2+) platform. Solid understanding of API lifecycle management, API security (OAuth2, JWT), rate limiting, and analytics. Experience implementing and managing WSO2 Identity Server (IAM). Proficient in JavaScript, JSON, XML, and understanding of API-related OWASP security issues. Familiar with CI/CD automation for APIs, and deployment pipelines. Experience with API testing tools like SoapUI, ReadyAPI, Katalon, Postman, etc. Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms, preferably Azure, including services like Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions. Knowledge of log aggregation and monitoring tools like ElasticSearch and Splunk. Understanding of containerized environments and Kubernetes. Exposure to other API management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect, Apigee, MuleSoft) is a bonus. Certification in WSO2 API Management is a plus. Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) is a plus. Familiarity with EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT) and integration practices is a plus. Soft Skills & Attributes Passionate API evangelist with the ability to promote API-first culture across teams. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Proactive, self-starter with a sense of ownership and accountability. Education Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
