Sr AI Specialist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior AI Transformation Lead to drive the adoption and integration of Artificial Intelligence across our software engineering organization. This role will lead the transformation of how our teams design, develop, test, deploy, and operate a cloud-based oncology SaaS platform deployed on AWS and used by cancer patients, clinicians, and healthcare providers worldwide.

The successful candidate will partner with Engineering, Product, Quality Assurance, DevOps, Architecture, Security, and Leadership teams to implement AI-enabled software development practices, improve engineering productivity, accelerate delivery, enhance software quality, and establish AI governance in a regulated medical device environment.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring deep understanding of modern software engineering, AI technologies, developer productivity, quality engineering, and organizational change management.

The product is Siemens Healthineers´s cloud-based software solution for patient relationships and care navigation management. It’s designed to connect cancer patients with their clinics online throughout the entire cancer journey. The product used by 35 000+ active cancer patients and healthcare professionals from leading oncology centers in North America and Europe.  The candidate in this role will provide strong product development leadership to a team of software engineers and test engineers, working in an agile/scrum environment.

Job Description

Position Duties:

• Define and execute the AI transformation roadmap for the software engineering organization.
• Define KPIs and success metrics to measure AI adoption and business impact.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across engineering teams.
• Enable developers to leverage AI for coding, code reviews, documentation, debugging, refactoring, architecture design, and knowledge sharing.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the development lifecycle for Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, Angular, and mobile application development.
• Lead adoption of AI-powered testing and quality engineering practices.
• Drive AI-assisted test generation, regression analysis, defect prediction, and release risk assessment.
• Drive AI adoption across CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, incident management, and operational workflows.
• Implement AI-assisted root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and operational intelligence.
• Evaluate and implement AI platforms, frameworks, and tooling.
• Partner with Architects and Engineering teams to define scalable AI integration patterns.
• Support development of internal AI assistants and engineering productivity solutions
  
  

Qualifications Required: BE, MSc, MCA, Computer Science or related discipline.

Number of year’s related experience: 8-12 years

Special Knowledge / Skills:

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years driving AI, engineering productivity, developer experience, or technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and AI-assisted software development tools.
• Hands-on experience with software technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, Angular, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience working with AWS cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, vector databases, RAG architectures, MCP, AI agents, and prompt engineering.

• Experience developing healthcare products conforming quality system regulations.
• Experience in healthcare domain and medical interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7
• Certifications from AWS or Azure
