Specialist Java Developer

Job Description

Position: Specialist Java Developer (7+ years), Pune Role Summary Will be responsible for timely delivery of high-quality software and staying hands-on with coding and design. The role demands expertise in Java 17, .NET 6.0, Angular, SQL Server and RabbitMQ. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead and mentor a team of developers (Backend + UI). 2. Actively contribute to design, coding, and code reviews. 3. Break down business requirements into technical tasks and allocate to the team. 4. Oversee UI development with Angular and integration with REST APIs. 5. Ensure optimized data access with SQL Server. 6. Design and implement message-driven architectures with RabbitMQ. 7. Support deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Nexus). 8. Track progress, resolve technical blockers, and ensure timely delivery. 9. Work closely with architects and product owners to align development with architecture and business goals. Required Skills 1. Strong hands-on expertise in Java 17 (at least 1.8 and above). 2. Strong API design skills. 3. Frontend expertise in Angular. 4. Databases: SQL Server (the most commonly used), Informix and Snowflake. These involve large models and queries that can be quite complex. 5. RabbitMQ ? messaging and event-driven systems. 6. Excellent understanding of software design patterns, best practices, and clean coding principles. 7. Team leadership ? task allocation, code review, mentoring. 8. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Optional Skills (Good to Have) 1. Exposure to DevOps tools: Jenkins, Nexus. 2. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 3. Experience with migration automation tools (Liquibase). 4. Experience with PHP (modern versions: 7.3/7.4+) and ASP.NET. 5. Comfortable with shell scripting. 6. Design, development, and validation of Tableau dashboards for decision-making. 7. A builder mindset: ownership, pragmatism, and sleeves rolled up when needed.
