With over two decades of experience in inclusive education, assistive technology, and content accessibility, Saksham supports children with disabilities across multiple states in India. Job Summary: The Special Educator will be responsible for providing tailored educational support to students with visual impairments at Saksham's Resource Centre in Rohru. The role includes developing individualized learning strategies, integrating assistive technology, and training local teachers and caregivers on inclusive education methods. Key Responsibilities: Deliver daily classroom instruction to children with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each child based on assessments. Use and demonstrate assistive tools such as Braille slates, screen readers, tactile books, and DAISY players. Conduct teacher orientation and sensitization workshops at nearby schools. Collaborate with the program team to plan and execute training modules. Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and progress tracking reports. Support the setup and usage of accessible learning resources and technologies at the Centre. Organize community and parent awareness sessions to promote inclusive practices. Travel locally within the district, if required, for outreach and school support. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Special Education (RCI-certified). Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with visual impairments. Strong knowledge of Braille and assistive learning technologies. Good communication and documentation skills in Hindi and English. Passion for community-based disability work in rural settings. Preferred: Experience working in Himachal Pradesh or hilly/rural areas. Knowledge of local language/dialect is an advantage. Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person
