Requirements:

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mandatory)

Preferred: Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering

Core Responsibilities

Initiate and manage RFQs, including lead-time analysis and should-cost / cost estimation requests from internal stakeholders.
Utilize existing supplier matrix for quotation, negotiate commercials, and award business to suppliers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, NPI, Quality, Manufacturing) to define sourcing strategies for NPI / pilot programs.
Drive internal part qualification approvals for critical components.
Understand and analyze multi-level BOMs, interpret engineering drawings, special processes, and specifications; effectively communicate requirements to suppliers.
Identify and evaluate Make vs Buy opportunities and drive alignment with key stakeholders.
Perform cost roll-ups using software tools and analyze cost performance to meet product cost targets.
Ensure smooth product transition from NPI to volume manufacturing.

Required Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience in:

Strategic sourcing
Program management
Supplier / vendor management

Strong exposure to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components.

Job-Specific Skills & Knowledge

Hands-on experience in:

Sourcing & procurement
Commercial negotiation
Dual sourcing strategy
Supplier performance management

Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel is mandatory).
Solid understanding of:

Manufacturing processes & commodities
Product cost structures

Ability to read and interpret BOMs accurately.
Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Good to Have / Added Advantage

Working knowledge of SAP MM module.
Experience in costing models:

Outsourced assembly / modules
Cost breakdowns, margins, mark-ups

Experience working with cross-functional teams on:

New Product Introduction (NPI)
Engineering / design change projects

Ability to interpret drawings using 3D modeling and PLM tools.
Experience managing global suppliers.
