Solutions Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Solution Architect who will drive engineering excellence through strong code governance, API design standards, and distributed system reliability. This role is responsible for setting the technical direction across teams, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code, and proactively identifying risks within complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and elevate code review practices across teams, setting expectations beyond standard participation and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes
• Define, implement, and enforce coding standards and best practices to improve overall code quality and maintainability
• Evaluate large, complex codebases to identify architectural risks, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Provide architectural guidance on API design and system integrations, ensuring scalability, consistency, and minimal downstream impact of code changes
• Establish best practices for handling failures in distributed systems, improving system resilience, observability, and reliability
• Partner with engineering teams in a hands-on capacity, guiding design decisions, reviewing critical components, and mentoring developers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in code quality, performance optimization, and system design
• Support legacy system stabilization and modernization, including undocumented or partially understood components

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in code review leadership and code quality governance across multiple teams
• Strong ability to analyze and navigate large-scale, complex codebases with a focus on risk identification and optimization
• Deep understanding of API architecture, integration patterns, and system dependencies
• Solid experience with distributed systems design, including failure handling, fault tolerance, and resiliency patterns
• Strong background in performance optimization, particularly in database queries, APIs, and backend services
• Experience working in lean, cross-functional teams, with the ability to take ownership and operate independently
• Familiarity with Microsoft stack environments (C#, .NET, SQL Server) and on-prem or hybrid architectures is highly preferred
• Exposure to legacy systems (e.g., PHP or undocumented codebases) is a plus
