What we do

Lucidity is a company that provides an automated NoOps disk auto-scaler for cloud storage across AWS, Azure, and GCP. It addresses over-provisioned block storage by dynamically scaling capacity, increasing disk utilization to around 80% from 25-35%. This results in cost reductions of up to 70% for businesses. Role Overview

Lucidity is hiring a Solution Architect to work from the Founders Office and own high-impact, ambiguous, cross-functional technical initiatives end-to-end.

While the external title aligns closest to a Solutions Architect, this is not a traditional pre-sales, sales engineering, or partnerships role. This is a high-leverage, deeply technical IC position for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, customers, and cloud providers and can independently drive clarity, execution, and outcomes where bandwidth or ownership is missing.

You will act as a technical buffer and force-multiplier for the founders and core engineering team picking up hard, undefined problems and pushing them to concrete, usable outputs: PoCs, benchmarks, research, documentation, architectural insights, and validated recommendations.

This role is built for someone who enjoys extreme ownership, fast context switching, and solving real technical problems without waiting for perfect specs or process.

Core Responsibilities

1. PoCs, Benchmarking & Experimentation (≈30%)

• Design and execute performance benchmarks (IOPS, throughput, latency, cost-performance)
• Run storage and infrastructure compatibility testing across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Tier-2 CSPs
• Independently design experiments, identify variables, interpret results, and document findings
• Deliver fast, pragmatic insights that engineering and product can immediately act on

2. Technical Research & Writing (≈20%)

• Produce technical documentation (architecture articulation, technical claims input; not legal filing)
• Write deep technical research on infrastructure trends, edge cases, and emerging stacks (AI/ML, backup, storage, compute)
• Translate complex technical findings into clear narratives for engineering, founders, or GTM teams
• Use writing as a thinking tool—iterate as you investigate

3. Engineering Overflow & Deep Problem Solving (≈20%)

• Step in when Product or Delivery teams can’t extract the right technical signal
• Debug complex, multi-component issues across cloud, storage, OS, and application layers
• Investigate backup/restore behaviors, performance anomalies, or architectural edge cases
• Synthesize truth from noisy data and incomplete information

4. Cloud, CSP & Partner Technical Engagement (≈15%)

• Define what “technical compatibility” means for new CSPs and ecosystem partners
• Run PoCs to validate integration assumptions with Tier-2 CSPs and platforms
• Engage in exploratory technical conversations with cloud providers and partners (not pure sales)
• Represent Lucidity in strategic technical discussions, architecture reviews, and evaluations

5. Product & Architecture Input (≈15%)

• Identify architectural gaps, anti-patterns, or improvement opportunities from a systems viewpoint
• Validate ideas with PoCs before recommending changes
• Evaluate Lucidity’s role in emerging infrastructure and AI stacks

Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)

Experience

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or solutions architecture, core development.
• Proven ability to independently ship PoCs, benchmarks, or technical investigations
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP (cross-cloud exposure strongly preferred)
• Exposure to deep-tech, cloud infrastructure, or B2B SaaS environments

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience influencing product or architecture decisions through technical insights
• Background in cloud optimization, storage, backup, or performance engineering
• Experience in a CTO’s office, founders office, or strategic technical role
• Open-source contributions or public technical writing
• Certifications (AWS SA, Azure, CKA)
