Software Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of software applications through effective testing and continuous improvement practices.

Location: Variosystems, World Trade Center (WTC), Colombo 01

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Perform manual and automated testing of software applications
• Identify, document, and track bugs and defects
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality standards
• Conduct regression, integration, and system testing
• Improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies
• Ensure compliance with industry quality standards and best practices

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 1.5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
• Experience with manual and/or automated testing tools
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments
• Knowledge of test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
• Basic understanding of programming languages is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have

• Experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, etc.)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Github
