About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software QA Engineer (Contractor) to join our dynamic Quality Center of Excellence on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our industry-leading simulation software products within a multiplatform environment.

You will work closely with product management, software development, and applications engineering teams — bringing a mindset that is efficient, collaborative, thoughtful, and results-driven.

Key Responsibilities

As a Software QA Engineer (Contractor), you will:

• Execute end-to-end QA activities across the software development lifecycle to ensure high product quality and release readiness.
  
• Review requirements, user stories, and design documents to ensure testability and develop effective test scenarios and automated test suites.
  
• Design and perform manual and automated functional, stress, and performance testing, with clear documentation of results and findings.
  
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and provide clear reproduction steps using logs and diagnostic tools.
  
• Collaborate with Development, DevOps, Product Management, and Documentation teams to support quality objectives and timely issue resolution.
  
• Develop scalable test automation for high-performance environments, covering complex UI, graphics-intensive, and engineering workflows using tools such as Pytest, Selenium, Ranorex, Squish, Eggplant, or similar.
  
• Proactively translate manual test cases into efficient automated scripts to improve coverage, speed up feedback cycles, while designing tests that effectively validate new and existing functionality.
  
• Promote QA best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across product and test development.
  
  

Required Qualifications

We're looking for someone who brings:

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related technical field

Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in Software Quality Engineering

Domain Knowledge: Exposure to or experience with desktop simulation products such as Simcenter (CAD/CAE software)

Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python and/or C, or similar

Automation Experience: Hands-on experience with frameworks/tools such as Pytest, Ranorex, Selenium, or similar
