Software Engineer (SDE I) – Backend (C++)

Role Context

As a Software Engineer (SDE I) – Backend (C++), you will begin your career by building real production backend systems as part of the FLX ONE Cargo (F1C) engineering team.

This role focuses on developing strong fundamentals in C++ programming, system-level thinking, and backend development through hands-on coding.

You will work closely with Senior Engineers and Tech Leads, contributing to backend services while learning best practices in performance, reliability, and production engineering.

Hands-On Development

• Implement backend services and components using C++.
• Contribute to system-level functionality under guidance from senior engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code following established patterns.

• Deliver well-scoped features or components from implementation through testing.
• Fix bugs and improve existing functionality with attention to quality and correctness.
• Apply modular design principles to keep code clean and maintainable.

• Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to improve code quality.
• Learn and follow engineering best practices around version control, testing, and deployment.

What You Must Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Internship, academic, or project experience in software development.
• Basic proficiency in C++ or strong foundational programming skills with willingness to work in C++.
• Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming and data structures.
• Strong curiosity, learning mindset, and willingness to take ownership.
  
  

Nice to Have

• Basic understanding of cloud concepts or experience with AWS.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to learn faster or improve productivity.
