Software Engineer

Our team is part of Microsoft’s Cloud + AI engineering organization, focused on delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions for sovereign and public cloud environments. We build foundational services and operational tooling that enable compliance, resiliency, and seamless customer experiences across global markets.

We work on mission-critical platforms such as image lifecycle management, jumpbox tooling, and secure access frameworks, ensuring enterprise-grade reliability and performance. The team collaborates closely with partner engineering groups across geographies, driving engineering excellence through automation, AI-assisted productivity tools, and metrics optimization.

Responsibilities

'- Own and deliver components end‑to‑end, including design, implementation, testing, quality, and readiness for release.

• Drive engineering quality by owning bugs, automation coverage, and contributing to reliability, fundamentals, and telemetry work.
• Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
• Execute with speed and independence, making sound technical decisions and articulating trade‑offs for where problems are best solved.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners, providing technical insights, surfacing risks early, and contributing to design and code reviews.
• Contribute actively to Livesite, engineering investments, and team culture, helping the broader team stay informed and aligned across geographies.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with strong programming skills in C++, C#, C, Java, Python, Rust.
• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in production environments.
  
  

Other Requirements

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of Object-Oriented design with one of these languages - C#, C++ or Java.
• Passion for building highly available distributed systems at scale. 
• Experience working across disciplines, groups, and teams. 
• Experience writing applications using C/C++, C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript. 
• Experience in Machine Learning and AI.
