About The Team As a member of our Information Security (InfoSec) team within Business Services, you will join a collaborative and supportive environment. About The Role We are seeking a Software Engineer III with experience in Java development and a dedication to building secure, reliable software. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the security of our middleware platform and integrated systems. Our platform operates in the cloud on Azure using Kubernetes and containerized services on Linux. We welcome candidates with a range of experiences, including those who have built technical skills outside of traditional pathways. Responsibilities Collaborate with team members to review and improve the security of Java code and third-party libraries. Address security issues, including updating software dependencies and refactoring code as needed to strengthen protection. Help ensure secure communication across the platform, with a focus on API security and cloud infrastructure. Contribute to automation processes that keep software components up to date and help prevent vulnerabilities. Work with others to implement data encryption, authentication, and authorization within our systems. Support compliance with relevant regulations and data privacy standards. Requirements Professional experience in Java development, with an understanding of secure coding and software quality. Experience or familiarity with web technologies (such as JSON, XML, REST), API security, and cloud-based environments. Exposure to containerized applications and cloud software delivery is helpful but not required. Understanding of data persistence methods (for example, MySQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar technologies). Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and to work effectively within a team.
