AstroChat is building a fast-growing astrology platform from People Interactive, the group behind Shaadi.com, with a mobile-first experience that helps users connect with verified astrologers through chat, calls, and live sessions. The platform is based in Mumbai and positions itself as a trusted destination for guidance across love, career, health, and future planning.

✨ About the role

We’re looking for a sharp, product-minded SDE III - Android to help build and scale a high-quality mobile experience for AstroChat. This is a great fit for someone who loves consumer products, writes clean Kotlin, thinks deeply about performance and UX, and actively uses AI to build faster and better.

🛠️What you’ll do

Own Android development for key product journeys across onboarding, chat, calls, engagement, retention, and monetization.
Build scalable, high-performance Android features with Kotlin as a core language.
Partner closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Growth teams to ship intuitive user experiences.
Improve app architecture, code quality, reliability, observability, and release processes.
Mentor engineers and help raise the bar for Android development practices.
Use AI tools effectively for coding, debugging, testing, prototyping, and productivity.
Bring basic cross-platform understanding; exposure is preferred, though deep expertise is not mandatory.

✅ What we’re looking for

4-8 years of hands-on Android development experience.
Strong background in building apps for product companies.
Kotlin is mandatory.
Solid grasp of Android fundamentals, architecture patterns, app lifecycle, APIs, performance optimization, and release management.
Strong product sense and the ability to turn requirements into polished mobile experiences.
Comfort working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
Basic cross-platform exposure is preferred.
A builder mindset with strong execution and problem-solving skills.
