The Enterprise Essentials team within Financial Data Engineering is hiring Software Engineer II with experience in data engineering on Google Cloud Platform or any other major cloud platform. The team is responsible for creating new capabilities and modernizing existing ones in critical areas like Global Tax, Finance, and GSM Conversational AI platforms, and key enterprise products such as Balancing and Control, Reconciliations, Concur, and Ariba. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build robust data pipelines and enable data-driven decisions at scale. As an Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing robust, scalable data pipelines, enabling efficient data processing and analysis across a cloud-native environment. You?ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, working on innovative solutions that leverage modern cloud technologies. Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable data pipelines: Build and maintain automated ETL processes that handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring data flows smoothly between various sources and destinations in a cloud-based environment. Data modeling and architecture: Design efficient data models and architectures to optimize storage, access, and performance, while ensuring data integrity and governance best practices are followed. Cloud-based data engineering: Leverage cloud technologies (GCP or other cloud platforms) for managing and processing big data, utilizing tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage to deliver high-performance solutions. Optimize data processing workflows: Continuously monitor, debug, and improve data pipelines for reliability, scalability, and speed, reducing processing time and optimizing the performance of data operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure smooth integration of data engineering solutions with analytics and business applications. Ensure data security and compliance: Implement data security best practices in line with organizational and regulatory requirements, ensuring the integrity and protection of sensitive data. Automation and innovation: Explore opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency by adopting new tools and techniques, constantly pushing the boundaries of cloud-based data engineering. Lead with an external perspective, challenge status quo and bring continuous innovation to our existing offerings Demonstrate learning agility, make decisions quickly and with the highest level of integrity Lead with a digital mindset and deliver the world's best customer experiences every day Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 3 to 6 years of experience in data engineering on GCP or another cloud platform (AWS, Azure). Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, Java, or Scala for data processing. Experience in designing and developing ETL pipelines for large datasets. Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, or similar tools on GCP or other cloud platforms. Experience with data modeling and data warehousing principles. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools. Knowledge of Kubernetes or other containerization tools for data pipeline deployment. Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating data engineering workflows.
