Software Development Engineer in Test-II

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and technically strong Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET-II) to join our Engineering team. As an SDET-II, you will play a key role in building scalable test automation frameworks, driving quality engineering practices, and enabling continuous delivery of cloud-native applications.

You will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is built into every stage of the software development lifecycle. This role requires strong programming skills, automation expertise, and the ability to solve complex engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
• Develop high-quality automated test suites using Java and modern automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
• Build robust API automation using Rest Assured or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases.
• Collaborate with developers during feature design and implementation to improve testability and product quality.
• Review functional and technical requirements, identify test scenarios, and define automation strategies.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and system testing across distributed applications.
• Debug failures, perform root cause analysis, and partner with development teams to resolve defects efficiently.
• Improve automation coverage, execution speed, and overall testing efficiency.
• Monitor test execution, quality metrics, and release readiness.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, design reviews, and engineering discussions.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards, and continuous quality improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in Software Development in Test or QA Automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java with good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium WebDriver.
• Strong experience in API automation using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Experience building automation frameworks using TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles, SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing microservices and distributed architectures.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience validating relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) using SQL.
• Experience testing event-driven systems using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Basic understanding of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana.
