Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer Engineer to contribute to the development and enhancement of our Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) platform. In this role, you will work independently to build major features and improvements for secure data exchange solutions across different security domains. You will collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable systems while growing your expertise in security-critical applications.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Implementation

• Write correct, secure, maintainable, and robust code with appropriate tests
• Build new features in existing systems and services
• Drive design of features and subsystems
• Ensure operational readiness and excellence for developed features
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team's coding standards
  
  
  

System Design

• Collaborate on architectural design reviews and changes for service components
• Modify architecture of existing subsystems to improve reliability, availability, and performance
• Document technical designs and implementation details for team reference
• Contribute to technology decisions within the team's scope
  
  
  

Operational Excellence

• Drive operational excellence for features and subsystems you own
• Develop and maintain metrics, KPIs, SLOs, and visualizations for system components
• Identify and implement solutions to reduce operational toil
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and suggest possible solutions
• Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant software development experience
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent domain-specific experience
• Experience building and operating production systems
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on most projects
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C++)
• Security Fundamentals: Understanding of security best practices, encryption basics, and secure coding principles
• Software Engineering: Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and basic cloud concepts
