About the Role



The Site Reliability Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City, India. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure for industrial connectivity platforms and services. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting incidents, automating operations workflows, and collaborating with software development and system administration teams to improve reliability and availability. The Site Reliability Engineer will also help establish best practices for observability, incident management, and capacity planning, and contribute to ongoing improvements in deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code.



Responsibilities



  • Monitor alerts, triage incidents, and restore service using runbooks.
  • Perform safe production changes following ISO processes.
  • Operate AWS resources, OS & VM management.
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes, networking, messaging, and database issues.
  • Manage TLS certificates, DNS routing updates, and cloud networking.
  • Maintain observability dashboards & improve alert quality.
  • Participate in on-call rotations post business hours.
  • Provide complete audit-ready evidence for changes/incidents.
  • Contribute to platform reliability improvements & runbook updates.
  • Maintain the DRP.
  • Support tech-support team to resolve customer issues.
  • Develop and maintain custom Terraform module (If required specific to SRE).



Qualifications



  • Containerized service-based cloud infrastructure running on AWS: EC2, Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), ELB/ALB, EKS, Route 53, RDS, Aurora, S3, ECR, IAM, Secrets Manager, AmazonMQ (RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ), AWS IoT Core, VM, VPN.
  • Containers & Kubernetes: Kubernetes (EKS), FluxCD, Karpenter, k9s, rollouts, logs, port-forwarding, Docker.
  • Messaging & Eventing: RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, AmazonMQ.
  • Databases & Data Layer: MySQL, MariaDB, Aurora, PostgreSQL (pgAdmin), SQL Language, Liquibase, InfluxDB.
  • Monitoring & Alerting: Prometheus (OpenMetrics standard), Grafana, Nagios/Naemon.
  • Networking & Security: HAProxy (TLS), OpenVPN, IPsec/GRE, DNS/rDNS (Bind9).
  • Automation & Operations: Linux, Terraform, Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python Scripting, AWS CLI, SSH port-forward, Docker exec/cp, log analysis (grep, tail).
  • Operating system: Linux, RHEL 9 (or equivalent), Ubuntu.
  • Cloud providers: AWS.


Required Skills


  • 5 to 12 years experience in Cloud Ops/SRE.
  • AWS DevOps Certification or equivalent.
  • Linux Certified.
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • Strong debugging & scripting skills (Bash/Java).
