Job Opening: Site Engineer – Power Transformer Maintenance

Location: (on-site) Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain

Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract Duration: 2 Years

Work Expereince : 4.5 - 5+ years

Salary Range: BHD 350 – 450 per month (INR approx. 84,930 – 109,196) (negotiable)

Introduction

We are hiring experienced Site Engineers with strong expertise in power transformer and substation maintenance for long-term onsite roles in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are hands-on, safety-focused, and willing to relocate internationally for a stable assignment with attractive benefits.

The role involves working on high-voltage power transformers (11kV to 400kV), leading maintenance teams, handling emergency breakdowns, and supporting shutdown and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance of power transformers at site, including inspection, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Execute oil filtration, oil testing, and BDV testing
  • Carry out IR / PI testing and ensure accurate reporting
  • Perform bushing inspection and condition assessment
  • Support repair, commissioning, and testing of transformers
  • Exposure to and understanding of SFRA and DGA analysis
  • Coordinate with OEMs for OLTC maintenance (maintenance performed by OEM; knowledge required)
  • Handle emergency breakdowns, shutdown activities, and night / call-out duties as required
  • Lead and supervise a team of 5–10 technicians, ensuring work quality and safety compliance
  • Maintain proper documentation and follow site safety procedures

Technical Scope

  • Voltage Levels: 11kV to 400kV
  • Maintenance Coverage:
    • Oil filtration & BDV testing
    • IR / PI testing
    • Bushing inspection
    • Exposure to SFRA & DGA
    • Repair, commissioning & testing
  • Emergency Handling: Yes
  • Shutdown / Night Shift / Call-Out Work: Yes
  • Overtime: Paid separately
Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5+ years in substation and power transformer maintenance
    • Candidates with 4.5+ years of relevant experience may also be considered

  • Strong knowledge of power transformer maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and lead technician teams
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Safety-conscious and disciplined approach to site work
  • Fast learner with adaptability to site conditions
  • Safety certifications are good to have (not mandatory)

Work Conditions

  • Working Hours: 8 hours per day
  • Working Days: 6 days per week
  • Notice Period: Immediate joiners or candidates with maximum 15 days’ notice only
