Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior WordPress Developer to lead the development, customization, and optimization of our websites and web applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in custom WordPress development, plugin and theme development, REST API integrations, and website performance optimization. The role requires someone who can independently handle end-to-end website development while collaborating with design, marketing, and development teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performing digital solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

WordPress Development

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and web applications.
• Build custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Customize existing themes and plugins based on business requirements.
• Ensure responsive, mobile-friendly, and cross-browser compatible websites.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.

Plugin & Theme Development

• Develop custom plugins to extend website functionality.
• Customize and optimize existing plugins.
• Develop reusable components and modules.
• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and compatibility issues.

API Development & Integrations

• Develop and integrate REST APIs.
• Integrate third-party services including CRM, payment gateways, WhatsApp, and external applications.
• Manage API authentication, data synchronization, and webhook implementations.

Frontend Development

• Convert Figma, PSD, or Adobe XD designs into responsive WordPress websites.
• Develop user-friendly and pixel-perfect interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
• Ensure responsive layouts across all screen sizes and browsers.

Backend Development

• Develop custom functionalities using Core PHP.
• Manage MySQL databases and optimize database queries.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Website Performance & Security

• Optimize website speed and Core Web Vitals.
• Perform regular bug fixing, maintenance, and security updates.
• Implement website security best practices.
• Monitor website performance and uptime.

Website Management

• Manage hosting environments, cPanel, domains, SSL certificates, backups, and deployments.
• Handle website migrations and server configurations.
• Maintain version control using Git.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with design, marketing, and content teams for timely project delivery.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure development best practices.

Research & Innovation

• Stay updated with the latest WordPress releases, development frameworks, and web technologies.
• Explore and implement modern AI-powered web solutions.
• Recommend innovative tools and technologies to improve development workflows.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience in WordPress Development.
• Strong expertise in custom WordPress theme development and customization.
• Strong experience in custom plugin development and customization.
• Proficiency in Core PHP and MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
• Hands-on experience in REST API development and third-party integrations.
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Elementor, and WPBakery.
• Good understanding of Git, cPanel, hosting management, and website deployment.
• Knowledge of website optimization, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda for WordPress hosting and optimization.
• Experience integrating AI solutions using OpenAI (ChatGPT), Claude, or similar APIs.
• Experience developing and integrating AI-powered chatbots for WordPress websites.
• Knowledge of Headless WordPress architecture and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience in the Healthcare or Medical Tourism industry will be an added advantage.
