Job Description
The Vacancy
Ready to take ownership of complex structural schemes and influence better design outcomes?
At SCP Infrastructure & Design, an RSK Group company, we are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality structural design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established structural engineer who is ready to step up, leading technical delivery, mentoring others, and acting as a trusted technical authority within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
Why This Role?
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll move beyond task delivery and into true project influence. You’ll help shape structural solutions, guide junior engineers, and work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to deliver technically robust, efficient, and sustainable designs.
You’ll be empowered to challenge convention, drive continuous improvement, and contribute meaningfully to the structural design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, utilities, occasional building structures, and temporary works, across most sectors — and covering most types of projects, from new build designs, design and build, and assessment and refurbishment.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + 8% Employer Pension
Hours: 35-hour working week
Location: Manchester (Hybrid working)

We highly value our people’s input, building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with our clients, and the desire to grow a strong and sustainable business. SCP will continue to serve its clients without any fundamental changes except by expanding our geographical capabilities and our team.

We have offices located strategically around the UK, including offices in Manchester, Leeds, and London. The business also has long-established expert witness relationships with planning barristers across the UK.
SCP is part of the RSK Group, a leading integrated environmental, engineering, and technical services business providing dynamic, multidisciplinary services to a wide range of sectors. RSK was founded in 1989 and has grown considerably since then.
At RSK, we operate as a group of businesses that work together seamlessly, aiming for growth through diversification.
