General Summary

We are looking for experienced testers who are interested in improving the quality and robustness of open source software released by Qualcomm. You will be joining the Open Source Tech Team (OSTT) as part of the Qualcomm Central Software Engineering (CSE) team to help scale up our testing facility in Hyderabad, India.

You will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the open source community, Linux and related open source projects and are comfortable working with a variety of Hardware platforms. You will have a proven track record of delivering both engineering excellence, as well as experience with real life applications of open source software.

As a Test engineer, you will find ways to improve testing of the Linux kernel, Yocto/OE, Debian, security software and boot firmware on Qualcomm platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our business and contribute to our company's growth.

Key Objectives

• Maintain and extend the testing LAB equipment pool for CI testing
• Work with other team members to manage and execute the tests
• Develop tests and automation to further expand our testing capabilities
• Dive into test reports to identify root cause of test failures
• Work with development and operations teams to find solutions to issues found during testing
  
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant technical field
• At least 10+ years experience working in Linux
• Experience with shell scripting
• Experience in Python programming
• Experience working with LAVA test automation system
• Creation of test plans and help develop tests
• Experience working with embedded development boards from NXP, TI, NVidia,
  
  
  

Qualcomm strongly preferred

• Thrive in a fast-moving work environment where you will mostly interact with your colleagues remotely
• Occasional global travel will be required to attend company and industry events

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
