Senior SRE Engineer with AWS/GCP

Role Description Job Description: UST is seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and support our cloud environments as we re-platform our traditional on-premise application stack into a modern, cloud-based architecture. In this role, you?ll be empowered to drive innovation and define standards, automation, and processes that enable product teams to deploy features on demand. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on DevOps best practices and continuous delivery in the cloud. Primary Responsibilities Serve as a key member of the DevOps team supporting the development, deployment, and operation of CI/CD pipelines. Lead the transformation to a microservices/SOA-based architecture in the cloud. Provision and manage Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters, namespaces, pipelines, and application deployments. Develop and implement cloud-based systems across the full system lifecycle?from provisioning to decommissioning. Build and enhance source code management, build/release systems, and automation tools. Create automated pipelines, processes, and scripts to support deployment in cloud environments. Promote Agile and continuous improvement practices across teams. Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to operationalize DevOps tools and processes. Mentor development teams on CI/CD and cloud delivery best practices. Influence design decisions for applications deployed in public cloud environments like AWS and Azure. Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 7?10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, including leadership responsibilities. Strong experience with AWS or Azure (cloud migration experience is a plus). Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and microservices architecture. Experience with modern development stacks such as Node.js, AngularJS, Java/JEE, and API management. Proficiency in DevOps tools: Jenkins, CircleCI, Git, Maven, Ant, JIRA, etc. Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.). Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, NAT, routing, etc.). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with teams of varying technical backgrounds. Experience supporting Agile product development teams. Preferred/Additional Qualifications Experience with Helm, Checkmarx, New Relic. Background in systems architecture and/or software testing is a plus. Familiarity with other cloud platforms is an advantage. Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools: Splunk, AppDynamics, Logstash, CloudTrail, Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, etc. Experience with database technologies like Cassandra, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL.
