Senior Specialist- Engineering (A3)

Function: Engineering/(Backend Engineer – Python | Flask / FastAPI)

Role Summary:

The Senior Specialist – Backend Engineer (A3) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Python (Flask / FastAPI). The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high‑performance APIs and services while owning backend modules end‑to‑end. Strong hands‑on usage of AI‑assisted development tools is highly valued to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (Flask / FastAPI)

- Build RESTful APIs with proper validation, error handling, and security

- Implement business logic, integrations, and data access layers

- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services

- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning

- Own quality, stability, and production readiness of assigned backend modules

AI Usage & Productivity Expectations

- Actively use AI‑assisted tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and documentation

- Leverage AI to accelerate development while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability

- Use AI to assist in test case creation, edge‑case analysis, and root‑cause analysis

- Review and validate all AI‑generated outputs before production use

- Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity using AI

Quality & Collaboration

- Ensure backend code is testable and automation‑friendly

- Collaborate closely with Frontend, QA, and Product teams

- Support QA during testing cycles and defect resolution

- Participate in incident analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

Future Growth Expectation:

Backend engineers are expected to gradually develop frontend exposure using Angular and move toward full‑stack feature ownership over time. Candidates with existing full‑stack experience (Python + Angular) are considered a strong advantage.

Skills and Experience:

- 3–7 years of backend development experience

- Strong expertise in Python with Flask and/or FastAPI

- Experience with REST APIs, authentication, and database integration

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

- Hands‑on usage of AI tools for development productivity is highly preferred
