Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Confluent Cloud Kafka Engineer with extensive expertise in architecting, implementing, and administering Confluent Cloud?based streaming platforms in production environments. The ideal candidate should bring strong hands-on experience across Kafka ecosystem components, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, cloud networking, and enterprise-grade governance. Key Responsibilities Extensive experience architecting, implementing, and administering Confluent Cloud Kafka platforms in production environments. Should have experience with Java development . Advanced knowledge of KSQL DB and Flink for real-time stream processing analytics (optional). Proven proficiency in Kafka Connectors ?from configuration to end-to-end integration in cloud environments. Strong background in platform governance including Schema Registry, RBAC, audit logging, retention management, and compliance . Deep expertise with Terraform and the Confluent Terraform Provider , including Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies and automation. Practical experience designing and managing Harness CI/CD pipelines or similar tools. Advanced knowledge of GCP networking , including Private Service Connect (PSC), DNS, Firewalls, and enterprise security. Track record of implementing cloud-native monitoring and observability solutions, along with strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident response capabilities. Thorough experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) , High Availability (HA) strategies, backup/restore, and multi-region designs. Practical experience with cost optimization , resource monitoring, and right-sizing within Confluent Cloud environments. Strong abilities in schema management , version compatibility, and data governance. Demonstrated capability in capacity planning , partitioning, and scaling streaming architectures. Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies . Experience providing hands-on production support for mission-critical streaming platforms. Experience working in an offshore/on-site model . The position requires gathering requirements on-site, creating detailed design documents, and coordinating with offshore teams for development and delivery.
