The Future of Scalable Software Engineering (FoSSE) team’s objective is to build technological capabilities for AI-enabled modernization of enterprise-scale software with high quality. 

Job Overview 

In this role, you will help define the future of software development at the largest scale. You will help build tools that combine static analysis and ML components to empower AI-assisted code modernization tasks (such as migration and translation) across the world’s largest bases. The work will involve design, implementation, and evaluation in a rapid prototyping loop to produce new transformative technology. You will develop state-of-the-art AI coding agents for understanding and transforming large codebases. 

You will be onsite at least 3 days-a-week and learn and grow through working with talented colleagues. 

Responsibilities

• AI-First Mindset-The role requires building generative AI tools that work at the bleeding edge of software engineering innovation. The candidate must already be using AI in their daily coding activities and have a high degree of familiarity and understanding of coding agents. The candidate should collaborate effectively with the rest of the team to design and implement tools that deliver true value to software developers.
• Focus on Quality- Large-scale transformations must be done with high quality. The candidate should have experience with either static analysis or testing-based validation that can be combined with coding agents to ensure high quality software transformations.
• Engineering expertise- This role requires understanding the software lifecycle and how it can be automated. Deliverables will be in terms of software tools that benefit others in the team as well as customers. Software development will be an essential part of this role.  
• Build Foundational Capabilities-Contribute to and lead the development of core platform components and reusable building blocks that accelerate team velocity and product innovation.
• Champion Customer-Centric Development- Engage directly with customers and product teams to capture feedback, understand demand signals, and refine product messaging—ensuring the voice of the customer shapes product evolution.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field and 5+ years' experience. Or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of   experience. Or a PhD in computer science or related areas.
• Experience in coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Rust OR equivalent experience 
• Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills  
• Customer obsession and passion for shipping high quality products 
• Experience in designing and developing AI-based tools for code manipulation.
