Role Description FasTutorAI is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of high-performance systems that power our AI-driven platform. This is a full-time remote position requiring strong technical judgment, architectural thinking, and hands-on engineering expertise. The Senior Software Engineer will drive complex initiatives across infrastructure, backend services, frontend experiences, system integrations, and platform scalability. You will collaborate closely with product teams, AI/ML engineers, UX designers, and leadership to deliver reliable, secure, user-centered solutions. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership ? Lead architectural design, system planning, and technology decisions for core platform services. ? Define engineering standards, code quality expectations, and best practices across teams. ? Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers through coaching, reviews, and guidance. Software Design & Development ? Build scalable, maintainable, and secure applications, services, and APIs. ? Design and implement distributed backend systems, data flows, and cloud-native architectures. ? Write high-quality, well-tested code aligned with performance, reliability, and accessibility goals. Platform & Infrastructure ? Improve system scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and deployment workflows. ? Partner with DevOps or infrastructure teams to enhance CI/CD, automation, containerization, and monitoring. ? Contribute to database modeling, storage strategy, and platform integration patterns. Cross-Functional Collaboration ? Work with product, UX, analytics, and AI/ML teams to translate requirements into engineering solutions. ? Participate in roadmap planning, prioritization, and technical feasibility assessments. ? Communicate engineering decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly to stakeholders. Qualifications Required ? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience. ? 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production systems. ? Advanced proficiency in at least one backend development language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go. ? Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable APIs, microservices, or distributed systems. ? Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), databases, and system design. ? Proficiency with Git, testing frameworks, code reviews, and modern development workflows. ? Ability to lead projects from concept to deployment with minimal supervision. Preferred ? Experience with FastAPI, Node.js, React, Django, or similar frameworks. ? Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). ? Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or streaming data pipelines. ? Experience working in EdTech, AI-driven applications, or mission-oriented platforms. ?
