Senior Software Engineer India (Remote) We have a truly exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to be part of an innovative software engineering team developing Brady's cloud native algorithmic trading software for the power and energy markets. Brady is a leading provider of trading, risk and logistics management software solutions to the global energy markets. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with mission critical trading software enabling them to trade power and gas, renewables, metals and agricultural commodities. With the massive expansion in the use of renewable energy sources, electric vehicles and battery production, the energy trading markets are currently undergoing significant disruption. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for playing a hands-on role in software development throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Through mentoring and coaching, the Senior Software Engineer will also take part in peer reviews, best-practice and helping to drive our products forward along with pursuing our continuous improvement approach. Maintain up-to-date expertise in relevant programming languages, tools, and technologies and awareness of organisational policies and standards, modern software development practices, techniques, tools, and platforms to ensure that we verifiably ?build the thing right?. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to enable effective management of work in progress and identify opportunities for improvement. Design, document, develop, refactor, debug, test, maintain, monitor, and support secure, high-quality software applications and services, associated infrastructure, and tooling in collaboration with colleagues to create well-engineered solutions that provide value to our customers. Lead and participate in design reviews and code reviews, giving and receiving objective feedback to support colleagues and ensure quality. Assist and support estimation, planning, scheduling, and resourcing activities. Mentor, support, and encourage Software Engineers to facilitate skill and knowledge development through advice, coaching, training opportunities, and leading by example to help the team scale. Measure, monitor, and review our software, processes, and practices; identify and implement improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Identify candidate technical approaches to support business requirements, assess their feasibility and relative merits to objectively identify the most appropriate approach. Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions to address the issue and process improvements to prevent recurrence of similar issues Key technical skills: Where stated, length of experience is a guideline - depth and breadth of experience are most important. In-depth knowledge and experience of: Full software development lifecycle (6+ years) Object Oriented Programming (6+ years) Automated developer testing (4+ years) NET Core Web API C# and .NET (4+ years) SQL / NoSQL (4+ years) Major Public Cloud Platform, preferably Azure or AWS (2+ years) Software design patterns Enterprise architecture and integration patterns Source control, preferably using Git or similar Desirable Where stated, length of experience is a guideline - depth and breadth of experience are most important.
